  3. Great Bend Farm and Ranch Expo

    The 2017 Great Bend Farm and Ranch Expo is all about promoting agricultural technology! With more than 700 inside and outside booths covering 80 acres. This is one of the largest farm shows in the United States. Show hours are 9:00am to 5:00pm on April 5; 9:00am to 7:00pm on April 6; and 9:00am to 4:00pm on April 7. The Expo stays open until 7:00pm on Thursday to better accommodate the consumer population that works during the day. Corporate sponsors are KSN, Great Bend Co-op and the American Hat Company Inc. Parking and admission are FREE!

  6. The Lenton Lunch Series

    Wed, April 5, 12pm – 1pm The Barton County Association of Churches announces the 2017 Lenten Luncheons. The purpose of these weekly ecumenical gatherings is to provide an opportunity to join together in Christian fellowship and to create space for personal reflection and spiritual growth during Lent. The luncheons begin serving at 12:00 noon (not earlier) and continue to 1:00 o’clock on six consecutive Wednesdays beginning March 8th. A free will offering is suggested to help defray the expenses incurred by the host congregation. The public is welcome to attend all of the luncheons. April 5th will be hosted by Grace Community Church, 210 McKinley, Pastor Jay Beuoy, Host, and Mark Presson, Star of Hope, Speaker.

Pearson is the host of Market to Market, which airs on Smoky Hills Public Television Friday nights at 8:00, Saturday mornings at 7:00 and Sundays at noon. For more than four decades, Market to Market has covered the issues affecting the nearly $800 billion business of agriculture. The program’s team of experienced analysts have a long history of providing expert analysis of the major commodity markets and delivering insight into trends and strategies that help producers and processors cope with changing times. The April 5 event will include dinner and a presentation from Pearson at the Great Bend Event Center. Tickets can be reserved by pledging $20 at www.smokyhillstv.org or by calling 800-337-4788.
