Venture Corp. is planning to begin construction of the City’s 2014 Residential Street Resurfacing &Reconstruction project next week. Work is anticipated to begin on Tuesday with the RMI beginning to rubblize the existing concrete pavement of the 281 Bypass. This is to occur between 10th & 17th Streets and through the intersection of Kansas Avenue. On Wednesday Venture will begin edge milling the section of Broadway Avenue between K-96 & McKinley Street. Application of an ultra thin bonded asphalt surface is anticipated to occur on Thursday. Venture will then perform paving along the 281 Bypass at the intersection of Kansas Avenue. Venture also anticipates milling the existing pavement to grade along 11th Street between Odell & Morton Streets and along 8th Street between Frey & Elm Streets. These roads will be opened for the weekend. Beginning the week of November 3rd, Venture anticipates closing 11th & 8th Streets to perform flyash modification of the subgrade as well as along Morton Street between 9th & 10th Streets. Paving of these streets will follow curing and trimming of the treated subgrade. Then Venture will perform a mill and overlay along 12th Street between Harrison and Monroe Streets. As usual all work is anticipated and may be impacted by inclement weather.
Residents/Travelers can expect to see road closures, barricades, detours, heavy construction equipment and work crews within the right of ways.
