2020 was an interesting and busy year for the Great Bend Brit Spaugh Zoo! Zoo and park staff were able to complete multiple projects including, bringing Bison back to Great Bend, completion of the parrot exhibit yard, installing an updated map of the zoo exhibits, building a new exhibit to house the reptiles and amphibians in the Raptor Center, and installing a catwalk in the Cougar’s exhibit. In addition to our normal care of the zoo’s residents, we were also able to successfully rehabilitate and release 13 birds of prey through our raptor rehabilitation program, these included: Great Horned Owls, Barn Owls, Mississippi Kites, a Sharp-shinned Hawk, Mourning Doves, and an American Robin.
