The Great Bend Municipal Court postponed all but emergency operations during the month of December, 2020. Effective January 4, 2021, operations were resumed. Several precautions have been taken to mitigate the exposure of persons attending court to the Coronavirus.
All persons entering the Courtroom is admitted Courtroom will have their temperature will be taken before entry. Additionally, they will be asked a series of screening questions in an attempt to eliminate persons feeling ill or who have been exposed to COVID-19 from entering the Courtroom. All persons entering the Courtroom ware required to wear masks unless they are medically excepted in writing by a healthcare professional. Masks will be furnished to those persons who arrive for Court without one.
The number of persons in the Court room at one time is limited. This is accomplished by the scheduling of individuals with Court business rather than having all person appear at the same time. Persons who are to be in court will be notified by mail on the time they need to appear. They can also check with the Municipal Court Clerk’s office the week before they are scheduled to appear.
Social distancing is required in the Courtroom. The number of seats available in the Courtroom have been reduced in order to allow proper spacing.
Plastic barriers have been placed in the Courtroom to allow separation protection of persons attending court.
Disinfection is to be carried out by the City’s janitorial staff, on a daily basis, both in the Courtroom, the court offices, the lobby and in the police department.
Further precautions will be taken when deemed necessary to operate the Court in as safe a manner as practicable.
