While the weather outside may be frightful, we still have many animals to visit here in the Raptor Center. The Raptor Center houses our reptiles, fish, amphibians and even some of our furry friends! The keepers work hard during the winter to ensure the animals are snug and toasty even when the temperatures outside are below zero. From heat lamps to straw beds to preparing water and generators in case of power outage, our staff go above and behind to prepare for cold weather and potential power outages. While most of the animals prefer a more mild climate, a few of our animal friends thrive in the cold, the Bison, Gus and Breeze, especially love to frolic in the snow!
